Character NAME: Ahiru
Canon & MEDIUM: Princess Tutu
Canon PULL-POINT: Mid Akt 25
Character AGE: 16
Character ABILITIES: Ahiru can not only transform from a duck into a normal girl with the help of a magical pendant, but can also change into Princess Tutu as well. Tutu shares Ahiru’s body, staying dormant until Ahiru needs her to appear, and possesses wisdom, grace, and confidence Ahiru herself doesn’t. Tutu can also control plants to some extent, and jump to incredible heights, along with other extraordinary physical feats and the ability to influence the emotions of others to a small extent. She can change into Princess Tutu at will, but turns back into a duck when she says ‘quack’ and turns from a duck to a human when she gets wet - even a drop of water will do.
Character HISTORY: Here you are!
Character PERSONALITY: Ahiru, despite how she may seem at first glance, is anything but a normal girl. In fact, she’s not even a human girl. In reality, Ahiru is a duck, who is able to turn into a human due to magic, which both helps and hurts her. It allows her to be near her love, Mytho, who is a prince escaped from a fairy tale. The price for being near him, however, is an onslaught of identity issues. She often laments that she’s ‘just a duck’, wishing she could be a real human without the help of magic. She also feels like because she’s only a duck, she’ll never be good enough to have her feelings returned.

This leads to another very important part of Ahiru’s personality: she’s prone to thinking she’s not good enough, for both her friends and herself. She evens goes so far as to think she’s useless or unhelpful at the beginning of the story. However, along with the ability to transform from a duck to a normal girl, she also has the power to change into Princess Tutu. Tutu is essentially Ahiru, but with much more physical adeptness and confidence, although Ahiru considers herself a different person entirely. This is because of her low level of self-worth, which leads her to think she can’t be as useful as the princess.

The largest reason for her lack of confidence is her true identity as a duck. Unlike Tutu, she’s clumsy, both in her words and actions. She’s prone to falling over, getting lost, running around in circles, waving her arms around when she’s flustered, stuttering, blurting out embarrassing thoughts, and speaking nonsensically when flustered. She has a tendency to idolize people, often wishing she was more like Rue, a girl in the advanced ballet class. She also has a tendency to overreact. Even when she makes a small mistake, she’s very apologetic, especially to people she holds in high regard.

Despite her many insecurities and self-image problems, Ahiru is a very cheerful girl when things are going right for her. Although short term situations can make her overreact to an extreme degree, she can handle situations that are stressful but continue on for long periods of time fairly well. She’s kind to most people, even when they disagree with her or cause her problems. Though Rue tried to stop her from getting Mytho’s heart shards back, Ahiru still considered her a friend. Even Fakir, who was also trying to stop her from getting Mytho’s heart back in a markedly more aggressive way, gets decent treatment from the girl. She openly calls him rude and a mean person, but shows genuine care when he’s in dangerous situations, and offers to team up with him to help Mytho later on.

She cares for her friends a huge amount. It doesn’t take very much for her to consider a person her friend, stating once that Rue is her friend after spending only a few hours with her. She's very outgoing, and cares enough for people that if need be, she can be brave for them. She’s cheerful around anybody when she first meets them, and very naive in regards to people; even if an individual is suspicious, there’s a good chance she’ll trust them. This trust and caring even extends to people who mean her harm, sometimes, but she has to have formed a relationship with them before the harm comes.

She’s also prone to bouts of depression that she brings on herself due to low self-confidence. She’s constantly second guessing herself and wondering if she’s doing the right thing; despite this, she has a tendency to meddle in things she doesn’t know much about if she thinks it’ll help somebody she cares about. Before she knew what giving Mytho back his heart shards would mean, she began to return them anyways, to ‘bring back his smile’. She regards this as more important than anything else. However, at the canon point I've taken her from, there's a growing conflict inside of her: to return Mytho's heart and lose him to the story, and then return to being a duck, or to act as though she can't return the rest of his heart and keep him with her? At the canon point I’ve chosen for her, she’s finally able to give Mytho back the last of his heart shards, accepting that her role in the story must end. She can happily return to being a duck due to her new found self-acceptance and Fakir’s promise to stay by her side.

Chosen WEAPON: A shield. Though it'll be heavy and unwieldy at first, it'll gradually become lighter. After she becomes accustomed to it even more, it will offer protection even beyond its edges, creating a small, weak force field that will grow and strengthen over time.

UPDATED: A small (for now) bottle. When she's not in need of anything, it'll be empty; but when situations arise where a certain substance would be useful (water, medicine, etc), the bottle will fill with that substance. At first, it will only fill slightly, but the more she uses it, the more the bottle will be able to fill each time. Once the bottle is able to fill itself completely, it will become larger, and the process of holding larger amounts of the given substance will continue. The weight of the bottle will not change even as it grows, however, and it won't get bigger than two liters.
Character INVENTORY: The clothes on her back, and the pendant she carries around her neck to keep her human.

» PREVIOUS GAME INFORMATION ( IF APPLICABLE )
Previous GAME(s): Siren's Pull.
Previous GAME SETTING(s): Siren's Pull is set in an island off the coast of Canada, largely ruled by two warring companies, SERO and AGI. Both dabble in rather dark pursuits: human experimentation and a slave trade, respectively. Due to their influence over the island, people who choose not to affiliate with either company don't have an easy road ahead of them. It doesn't help that there's a strong bias against Newcomers who are Pulled to the island; the locals harbor a strong prejudice against the people who find themselves brought there. Perhaps worse than both of these elements is the Darkness that engulfs the Port every night. Once the sun goes down, the shadows bring the souls of the dead to life in the form of horrendous monsters who seek to prey on the people who travel out at night. The people do have some help, however; if they didn't have any existing powers in their world, they gain some sort of extraordinary ability upon arriving in Siren's Port.

Previous GAME CR: Maya Fey - Ace Attorney. A close friend.

Mia Fey – Ace Attorney. The sister of a close friend, and a friend in her own right!

Miles Edgeworth - Ace Attorney. He’s someone she looks up to a huge amount!

Larry Butz – Ace Attorney. A good friend, if a bit childish for his age.

Iroh – Avatar: The Last Airbender. Valuable advice, good tea, and overall a sweet man.

Ella – Ella Enchanted. Almost like an older sister to her.

Kurt Hummel – Glee. They’re good friends, incredibly close, though she worries about him a good deal.

Blaine Anderson – Glee. Kurt’s boyfriend, a talented musician and dancer. He’s very kind.

Sirius Black - Harry Potter. Though incredibly frustrating, she cares for him more than she’d admit.

Peter Petrelli – Heroes. A good friend, but she wishes he wouldn’t endanger himself so much.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III – How To Train Your Dragon. He seems insecure, and she wishes he could be more confident, but he’s a nice person.

Vanitas – Kingdom Hearts. A complete jerk, she thinks, but she’s learned to tolerate him even so.

Roxas - Kingdom Hearts. One of her closest friends in the Port.

Replica Riku - Kingdom Hearts. Another of her closest friends, and someone she knows she can count on for anything.

Sora – Kingdom Hearts. An uncommonly kind and brave boy who seems to genuinely care everyone.

Alois Trancy - Kuroshitsuji II. Though she’s unnerved by him at times, he’s probably also her closest friend in the entire city.

Luca Macken - Kuroshitsuji II. Alois’ younger brother, close enough that she thinks about him like a brother as well.

Michael Xavier - Marvel 616. She disagrees strongly with him on some questions of morality, but despite that, they’re very close.

Haruhi Suzumiya – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. A thorn in her side, Haruhi seemed to be incredibly insistent on making her life mortifying.

Jack Kelly – Newsies. Someone she loved fiercely. The fact that he’s gone still hurts a year later.

Gilbert Nightray - Pandora Hearts. He started out only being like a parent to her; they steadily grew closer until he ended up adopting her.

Christina Nickson - Point Pleasant. A close friend who happens to be the Antichrist.

Fakir - Princess Tutu. They started out as enemies, but after extensive development both in canon and in the Port, they realized their feelings for each other and started dating.

Crowley – Supernatural. They dislike each other, and seem incapable of doing much more. It doesn’t help that she switched bodies with him during an event.

Gabriel – Supernatural. They have the occasional disagreement, but she really does care for him, almost looking at him like an uncle.

Jinx - Teen Titans. Gabriel’s wife. Though she can be cranky, Ahiru’s cheer easily overcomes that.

Your character's DEVELOPMENT:

- Higher confidence. During the 2+ years she’s been in the Port, this is probably the biggest change she’s undergone. This is partially due to canon point and partially due to development; when she was Pulled, she’d just come from a time back home when she’d finally accepted herself. The presence of kind, supportive friends in the Port helped this feeling of self-worth and acceptance grow. Though she’s still rather humble, she’s come a long way from the extremely self-conscious, even self-deprecating person she used to be.

- Less naïve. Though she’s still very idealistic and generally believes the best in people, she’s seen many things in the Port that have dampened her opinion of the world in general. She’s seen her friends taken to an enclosed outdoor area and hunted as if they were animals; she’s seen hundreds of people be killed at once for no discernible reason; she’s seen friends been killed or hurt and been unable to do anything to stop it. She lives in a city that largely controlled by two companies that specialize in human experimentation and slavery. Of course, as someone who goes on to serve as an embodiment of hope in canon, these things haven’t affected her as much as they might other people, but they’ve still left a mark on the way she sees things.

- Less excitable. This is more an effect of the time spent in the setting than the setting itself. Of course, she’s still easily flustered and has a large tendency towards outbursts. This is a more natural transition; she started out in the setting as a thirteen year old girl, and now she’s nearing sixteen. She’s still full of energy and excitement, but the growing up that she’s done has helped her calm down a small bit.

- More mature. Another side effect of growing older! Though she’s still a teenage girl and as such, not completely mature, the difference between a thirteen year old girl and one quickly approaching sixteen is still great. It might even be amplified by the setting; the things she’s seen and been through have forced her to grow up faster than others might.
